As you dive in, one of the first to greet you might be the Asian sheepshead wrasse, a friendly, 70 cm-long fish known for swimming right up to divers without fear. This time of year also brings a magical sight: swarms of moon jellyfish (mizukurage) drifting gently in the current. Experts say this seasonal phenomenon occurs when plankton levels rise, attracting jellyfish in search of food.
